Vineyard notes

The grapes for this wine originate in Trinity County near the small town (gas station) of Hyampom on the South fork of the Trinity River. Large diurnal variations in temperature not only ripen the grapes but keep the acidity high. The vineyard, founded and managed by a local physician, provides fruit of exceptional quality.

Production notes

For years, we had been producing a wine called "Medallion," a meritage blend of cabernet and merlot, when we received a legal notice from a firm in New York saying we were infringing on their copyright. So, we had to think of a new name for this same wine. Thus you have "le montage." The awards listed to the right are for cabernet and merlot from the same vineyard, some identified with the "Medallion" identity.
