Vineyard notes:
Farley Peak sits at about 3000 feet just south of Laytonville in
northern Mendocino County. Production levels are restricted to about 2
tons per acre.
Production notes:
The grapes were destemmed, not crushed, and fermented in open vats,
with the must being punched down manually every 6 hours for 5 days.
After pressing and a short period in a settling tank, the wine was
racked to new Hungarian Oak cooperage. The wine
was lightly filtered before bottling.
Winemaker notes:
Typical Rhone style wine. Good tannins and extract.
